About us
The Ostrov Château Estate is part of a larger whole. Hotel Agnes in Bohdaneč, the Bohdaneč Distillery and Cider House, the Bohdaneč Brewery and Ham House, Green Biomass, and the Folk Costume Museum in Ostrov — all are part of our region, our “Good Land.”
We are a family-run company. We have renovated the estate and château in Ostrov, and now we offer it for rent for weddings and other events — so that it may bring joy to you as well.

About the Estate
The Ostrov Château Estate has a rectangular layout and is quite extensive. It is divided into two parts. The lower part houses administrative buildings and the Folk Costume Museum. The upper part is available for your event — it includes the château, the garden, and the winter garden.

History
The first mention of a Renaissance manor with a farmstead in the village of Ostrov dates back to 1580. The layout of today’s château includes the oldest reliably datable structures from the early Baroque period, specifically from 1673. More complete — though not fully detailed — descriptions of Ostrov appear in sources from 1704, which already list the number and function of all the farm and château buildings.
The most extensive reconstruction of Ostrov took place between 1758 and 1784, during the high and late Baroque period. Further Neoclassical modifications followed between 1832 and 1845, giving the estate and château their final, stable layout. The penultimate construction work occurred between 1958 and 1960, followed by several minor — and mostly insensitive — repairs from 1980 to 1990.
The château’s current appearance is the result of our extensive yet sensitive renovation, carried out between 2005 and 2008. The building was restored to its Baroque form from the time of Zikmund Moravec, the most prominent owner of Ostrov in the 18th century.
